Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, duties, and responsibilities of Baegugu (the "Company") and users in using the Company's volleyball community platform (including the website and mobile application, the "Service").

Article 2 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)

Publication

These Terms are posted on the Service's initial screen or on the Company's website. A user who accesses the Service is deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Amendment

The Company may amend these Terms to reflect changes in law or to improve the Service. An amended version takes effect 30 days after it is published, and users can review the change. A user who does not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service and delete their account.

  • Association creation policy: https://baegugu.com/policy/association-policy

Changes to the Service

The Company may change, add, or discontinue part of the Service for technical reasons, service improvement, or changes in operating policy. For a major feature change or discontinuation, the Company gives 30 days' notice.

Paid services

The Company currently does not charge users a service fee. Payments between users, or between an organizer and a participant—such as guest fees or tournament entry fees—are handled by those parties. The Company does not process those payments.

Article 5 (Membership and Eligibility)

Registration

Membership is completed through social login (Google, Naver, Apple). A phone number is not required at sign-up. To use features that require identity confirmation—such as club or association registration or tournament comments—a member must complete a separate phone identity verification. Members must confirm that the information they provide is accurate. If a member provides false information, the Company may refuse registration or restrict use.

Age

Persons under 14 years of age may not use or register for the Service.

Refusal of registration

The Company may refuse membership in the following cases:

  • The applicant provided false information
  • The applicant is under 14 years of age
  • The applicant previously left the Service for a Terms violation
  • Registration would otherwise violate law

Article 6 (Account Management)

Account responsibility

A member is responsible for keeping their account information (including linked social accounts) secure. The Company is not liable for damage caused by account theft.

Session management

A member may view active sessions in settings and sign out other devices.

Account deletion

A member may delete their account at any time in Service settings. After deletion, personal information is handled under applicable law. Posts the member created may be retained or deleted according to policy.

Article 7 (Member Obligations)

Prohibited acts

A member must not do any of the following while using the Service:

  • Registering a forged or altered certificate (such as a referee certification)
  • Disclosing or misusing another person's personal information (name, phone number, address, email, and similar) without authorization
  • Interfering with or destabilizing operation of the Service
  • Posting or commenting with hateful, insulting, abusive, or obscene content
  • Harassing or threatening others (cyber violence)
  • Posts or comments for advertising, spam, or marketing
  • Infringing another person's copyright, likeness rights, or personal information
  • Fraud, deception, or illegal transactions
  • Exploiting technical vulnerabilities of the Service or hacking
  • Content involving political, religious, or sexual hatred
  • Any other act that violates law

Responsible use

Members must respect other members and use the Service in a way that supports a healthy volleyball community.

Article 8 (Processing of Personal Information)

Protection of personal information

The Company protects users' personal information under the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable law. For details on how personal information is processed, see the separate Privacy Policy.

  • Privacy Policy: https://baegugu.com/policy/privacy

User consent

By using the Service, a member consents to the collection and processing of required information (such as name and email provided through social login). A phone number is not collected at sign-up. It is collected only when the member completes identity verification. Other optional information, such as body information and region, is collected when the member uses the relevant features.

Article 9 (Location Information Services)

Collection and use of location information

The Company uses location-related information to recommend nearby clubs, provide tournament information, search venues, and similar purposes.

  • Si/do and gu/gun codes: selected by the user in their profile
  • Place coordinates: address and GPS registered by an administrator of a club, tournament, or similar
  • Map current location: used only in the browser or app; personal real-time GPS is not stored on the server

Refusing and controlling location

A user may leave region information blank in their profile, or turn off auto location in settings. Refusing location-related features may limit some functions, such as nearby recommendations.

Location accuracy

The Company is not liable for inaccurate information caused by GPS or cell-tower-based location error.

Map display

The Company displays club, tournament, and other place information through the Naver Maps API. The location is shown to other users only when a club administrator has enabled location sharing.

Article 10 (Body Information and Account Identifiers)

Processing of body information

Depending on what a user enters, the Company may collect date of birth, gender, height, dominant hand, and similar information. This information is used only for team formation, tournament division assignment, and player matching.

  • Default: private (the user may change this)
  • Visibility: Private / Club members only / Public
  • A different visibility setting may be chosen for each club

Processing of social account IDs

The Company stores account IDs received from Google, Naver, and Apple, and uses them only to confirm account linking and to prevent duplicate sign-up.

Processing of qualification verification information

Certificate photos a member submits for qualification verification (such as referee certification) are automatically recognized via OCR and reflected on the profile immediately, without separate administrator review. The registered original image is retained only to verify disputes over forgery or alteration, and is not used for any other purpose.

Article 11 (Club and Association Rules)

Creating a club

A member may create a club, up to a maximum of 3. Creating a club requires a club name, description, location information, and similar fields. Detailed criteria follow the club creation policy.

Club name standards

A club name may not include any of the following:

  • Profanity, vulgar language, or obscene expressions
  • Content that hates or discriminates against a person, group, region, ethnicity, or religion
  • Expressions that could defame or insult another person
  • Names that imply false facts or could be mistaken for a public institution or well-known organization

Action on an inappropriate club name

If the Company confirms an inappropriate name, it may ask the club to change it. If the name is not changed within 7 days of the request, the Company may change the name itself or suspend club operations.

Club administrator responsibilities

A club administrator is responsible for the following:

  • Establishing club rules and ethical standards and monitoring compliance
  • Mediating disputes among members and handling them fairly
  • Reporting and deleting inappropriate comments and posts
  • Protecting members' personal information (no unauthorized disclosure)
  • Actively addressing bullying, violence, sexual harassment, and similar conduct in the club

Limitation of the Company's liability

The Company is not directly liable for disputes or violations among members within a club. If a report alleges a legal violation (such as defamation or threats), the Company will take action promptly.

Club location information

A club administrator may register the club's precise location (address, GPS coordinates). The administrator sets whether the location is public. If it is set to private, no marker appears on the map. Members can see the location regardless of the public sharing setting.

Club invitations

A club may recruit new members through an invite link. Invite tokens do not expire. An administrator may regenerate them.

Member visibility

A club member may set, for each club, how widely body information (height, dominant hand) is shown. The default is private.

Association registration

An association may be registered only if it actually exists and the registrant has authority to represent it. Detailed criteria follow the association creation policy.

Article 12 (Tournament Rules)

Tournament information

The Company posts tournament information based on what the organizer provides. The Company is not liable for changes to the schedule, rules, venue, or similar.

Participating team information

Information about teams in a tournament (team name, team gender, participation status, division information) is shown on the tournament page. How widely individual player rosters are shown follows the tournament's operating policy.

Submitting a roster

When applying, a team may need to submit teammates' and staff members' names, dates of birth, phone numbers, gender, and similar information. The applicant must have obtained consent from any listed person other than themselves to the collection and use of personal information and to provision to the organizer. That information is provided to the organizer for tournament operations.

Electronic signatures

A user may be asked for an electronic signature to participate in a tournament or to consent to the collection and use of personal information. Submitted signature images are retained as evidence of consent.

Responsibility of participants

A member who applies to a tournament must follow the tournament rules, arrive at the scheduled time, and participate. Cheating, unexcused absence, violence, and similar conduct may be penalized under the tournament's playing rules.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation and refund policy is set by each tournament organizer. The Company does not receive or refund entry fees. Check the tournament detail page and the organizer's instructions.

Tournament notices

The Company posts the organizer's notices. Members can check them in real time on the tournament page.

Article 13 (Community Rules)

Creating posts

A member may create posts, clips (videos), and lost-and-found listings in a club or the community. Titles, body text, images, and videos must be respectful and constructive.

Prohibited posts

The following posts are strictly prohibited. If found, they may be deleted and the account may be restricted:

  • Hateful or discriminatory expression (race, religion, gender, region of origin, and similar)
  • Profanity, vulgar language, or obscene content
  • Defamation, insults, or threats
  • Posts for advertising, spam, or marketing
  • Infringement of another person's copyright, likeness rights, or personal information
  • Political or religious agitation
  • False information or rumors

Comments and replies

A member may comment on a post. Comments are subject to the same rules as posts.

Private comments

If a member marks a comment as private, only the comment author and the post author can see it. Private comments do not appear in other users' feeds.

Content ownership

Copyright in posts, comments, images, videos, and other content a member creates belongs to the author. The Company may use a member's content to operate and improve the Service. A member may delete their own posts at any time.

Deletion of posts

The Company may delete a post that violates these Terms without prior notice. A member may object to a deletion they consider unjust.

Article 14 (Messages and Private Communication)

Message storage

The Company stores text and image messages between users to provide the Service. If a user deletes a conversation, every message in that conversation is deleted immediately.

Prohibited messaging

The following conduct through messages is strictly prohibited:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Threats, intimidation, or coercion
  • Fraud or deception
  • Theft or misuse of personal information
  • Invasion of privacy
  • Spam or advertising messages

Sanctions

If a violation is found, the Company may restrict the account or permanently ban it.

Privacy of messages

A message is private communication between the sender and the recipient. A third party who discloses a message without authorization may be legally liable.

Article 15 (Notifications)

Push notifications

The Company may send push notifications about chat, tournaments, join requests, electronic signature requests, and similar events. A member may opt out by type in settings. Opting out does not prevent use of the Service, but the member may not receive those notifications.

Article 16 (Service Interruption and Changes)

Temporary interruption

The Company may temporarily interrupt the Service without prior notice for the following reasons:

  • Scheduled system inspection and updates
  • Urgent bug fixes and security updates
  • Emergency response to hacking or a security threat
  • Ensuring stability under server overload

Changes and discontinuation

The Company may change, add, or discontinue part or all of the Service for business or technical reasons. For an important feature change or discontinuation of the Service, the Company gives 30 days' notice.

Limitation of liability

The Company is not liable for loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by an interruption of the Service for the reasons above.

Force majeure

The Company is not liable if it cannot provide the Service because of force majeure, including a natural disaster, war, terrorism, epidemic, or government order.

Article 17 (Reports and Sanctions)

How to report

If you find conduct that violates these Terms, you may report it as follows:

  • Use the in-app report feature (the report button at the bottom of a post, comment, or message)
  • Email a report to baegugu@naver.com

Handling reports

After receiving a report, the Company investigates within a reasonable period and informs the reporter of the result.

Sanctions

If these Terms are violated, the Company may take the following measures in stages:

  • First warning: a warning message for a minor violation
  • Second, account suspension: restricted access (30-90 days)
  • Third, permanent ban: permanent account ban
  • Special violations (sexual crime, violence, threats, and similar): immediate permanent ban

Right to object

A member may object to a sanction they consider unjust by emailing baegugu@naver.com. The Company handles the objection within 30 days.

Article 18 (Limitation of Liability)

Accuracy of information and the Service

The Company does not guarantee that tournament information, club information, location information, or similar is accurate. A user who relies on this information to make a decision must verify it by their own judgment.

Disputes among members

The Company is not liable for transactions, disputes, violence, sexual harassment, or similar among members. Those matters must be resolved directly or through legal action.

External links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or apps. The Company is not liable for third-party content or services.

Location error

The Company is not liable for inaccurate information caused by GPS or cell-tower-based location error.

Limitation of damages

The Company is not liable for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from a user's use of the Service. Because there is currently no paid fee, the Company's monetary liability is limited to the extent permitted by law until a paid service is introduced.

Forgery or alteration of qualification verification information

A member is fully liable for any consequences arising from registering a forged, altered, or another person's certificate (such as a referee certification). If the Company identifies such a case, it may cancel the verification and restrict use of the Service, and the member must compensate for any resulting damage to the Company or a third party.

Article 19 (Dispute Resolution)

Dispute procedure

A dispute between the Company and a user is resolved as follows:

  • Step 1: the user sends a detailed description of the dispute to baegugu@naver.com
  • Step 2: the Company reviews the matter and replies within 7 days of receipt
  • Step 3: if the parties agree, the dispute ends; if not, a party may apply for mediation
  • Step 4: if mediation is not possible, a party may file a lawsuit

Competent court

Disputes arising from these Terms are resolved under the laws of the Republic of Korea. The Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction as the court of first instance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.

Article 20 (Miscellaneous)

Partial invalidity

If any part of these Terms is invalid because it conflicts with law, the remaining parts continue to apply.

Examples are not exhaustive

The prohibited acts and sanctions in these Terms are examples. Clear violations that are not listed may still be subject to sanctions.

Notices

When the Company needs to notify a user, it does so by email, in-app push notification, or a notice in the Service.

Contact

If a problem or question arises while using the Service, contact baegugu@naver.com.

Addendum

Effective date

These Terms take effect on September 28, 2026.

Key changes

This revision adds Apple as a social login provider; clarifies that phone verification is used for identity confirmation, not as a sign-up method; and reflects associations, clips, electronic signatures, push notifications, the restriction on users under 14, and the provision of tournament rosters to organizers.

Effect of prior Terms

If a prior version a user agreed to before these Terms take effect conflicts with these Terms, these Terms prevail.
