Anti-Doping Guide for Volleyball Players
The essentials of the WADA and KADA anti-doping rules that volleyball players should know.
For now this mainly applies to registered testing pool athletes such as national team members, but anti-doping rules may expand to recreational sports. This page covers what amateur players should know in advance.
Key points
- ·Strict liability: a violation happens regardless of intent. A prohibited substance found in your sample is a violation by itself.
- ·Prohibited substances can be in prescription drugs, cold medicine, and supplements. Check before you take them.
- ·Refusing or avoiding a doping test is a violation in itself.
- ·Athletes in a registered testing pool must submit whereabouts information.
- ·If you need a banned substance for medical treatment, you can apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) first.
- ·The Prohibited List is updated every January 1. Do not judge by last year's list.
